The four-part series We Are All Made of Stars focuses on the spectral lines of stars—delicate structures that emerge when starlight is broken down into its individual wavelengths. The starting point is historical imagery from the 1940s, documenting early spectral analyses. These scientific diagrams are transformed into etchings on copper plates, working with rhythm, density, and the spacing of lines.
The etchings enter into dialogue with the original spectral analyses, creating a tension-filled juxtaposition between scientific observation and artistic interpretation—between objective measurement and subjective composition. The line functions as a connecting element between these two worlds. The title of the series points to the cosmic origin of all matter: like the stars, we too are made of the same building blocks of the universe—turning the spectral lines into an expression of fundamental connectedness.
